Lucknow-based educational charity organisation Aaghaz Foundation has announced that they will launch one scholarship for each day of Ramadan.
The ’30 Days, 30 Scholarships’ will run throughout the holy month starting March 11, benefiting an estimated 300 students across India with financial aid worth a total of Rs 60 lakhs.
“This is our gift to underprivileged children for Ramadan,” said an Aaghaz spokesperson.
Interested applicants are required to email their educational certificates along with income proof and other details to aaghaz.foundation@gmail.com. Priority will be given to orphans,” Aaghaz said.
Aaghaz runs over 50 memorial scholarships including those in the name of luminaries like Hazrat Ali, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) founder Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, Maulana Ali Mian, Maulana Kalbe Sadiq, Pulitzer-prize winning photo-journalist Danish Siddiqui, NDTV editor Kamaal Khan, educationist Fatima Shaikh and social activist Rohit Venumla.
Since its launch in 2004, Aaghaz has contributed to the school/college fee of over 60,000 students across India. Without this intervention, many of these students would have dropped out.
