Lucknow, January 10: The Lucknow Diabetes Study Society (LDSS) today organised a cardio-diabetes summit to apprise the people about the rising cases of heart-related diseases due to diabetes.
Addressing the conference Dr Jitin Vora who had come from UK, presented his views on Diabetes and heart failure. Similarly Dr Rajiv Awasthi, Dr SK Dwevidi and Dr Nakul Sinha also elaborated on the rising problem. Dr Vora said the possibility of cardiac arrest among diabetic patients is three to five times more than other patients. He thus laid stress on balanced diet and regular exercise. The secretary of the society Dr Mukulesh Gupta also explained the issue in detail. Dr SK Dwevidi said the number of diabetes cases are fast increasing largely because of irregular lifestyle. He said the people should avoid sugar, rice, sweets and other such eatables. He said that the society had recently presented a paper at a conference in Germany in which it was explained that low sugar in body was more dangerous than high sugar. The paper was highly appreciated at German conference. Prominent among those who also delivered talk at the conference here were Dr Ajoy Tewari, Dr Arun Pandey, Dr Sandeep Chaudhury, Dr Vivek Agawarl, Dr Nitin Rajan Gupta, Dr Sajid Ansari, Dr Santosh Chaube and Dr Dinesh Kumar
