Lucknow, September 09: The three-day BPCON 2022 conference, which was inaugurated today at Atal Behari Vajpayee Convention Centre here, laid stress on various controlling methods of blood pressure among the people. The medical experts from all over the country have assembled in Lucknow to discuss the rising problem of blood pressure and devising effective method to control it. The speakers said that problem of blood pressure has assumed serious crisis in the country and there was need to apprise the people about it fatal consequences.
Addressing the gathering Dr Anubha Srivastav from Prayagraj discussing the situation about the blood pressure in India explained why treatment of high blood pressure was necessary. Dr. Arvinda Gupta from Jaipur talked about the correct method of measuring blood pressure and also apprised the gathering about mistakes health workers and doctors commit and how to rectify them.
Dr. VK Abhichandani from Surat, Dr. Shailendra Bajpai with Prof. Narsingh Verma discussed the relation of paralysis with high blood pressure. They said not keeping high blood pressure under control could lead to paralysis and very little could be done thereafter. These side effects of bringing down blood pressure too rapidly in paralysis patients were also considered.
Dr. Amit Gupta from Noida, told that how to measure blood pressure while staying at home and Dr. Dinesh Sharma from Guwahati, told about new methods of measuring blood pressure during the walk.
Dr. Minal Mohit from Jaipur and Dr. Arvinda Jagdish from Bangaluru participated in the debate on which medicine best controls blood pressure in diabetic patients. This program was very much liked by all the delegates.
Lifestyle is very important in blood pressure control. Dr. Rajeev Srivastava, from Sultanpur, told what to keep in mind for high blood pressure patients on their foods. He also said that the intake of fiber, complex carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables, salads, curd, pulses should be increased in the food and sugar, salt, fat and liquid carbohydrates should be reduced.
Dr. Sudhir Kumar Gorakhpur, talked about exercise which would be appropriate for these patients. He said that 30 to 45 minutes of any kind of physical labor every day keeps blood pressure under control. They also reported that a reduction of 1 kg in one’s own weight reduces blood pressure by the same millimeter. Dr. Deepak Das from Bareilly spoke on the role of stress in hypertensive patients and also told that stress is currently the main factor. Dr. Sushil Sharma discussed the effect of Yoga and Dr. Murugunathan from Coimbatore the role of Artificial Intelligence.
President of the institution, Dr. Rajeev Gupta, in his presidential address, discussed the current situation of hypertension in India and measures to control it in a better way better. The Country’s eminent doctor from Mumbai, Padmashree Dr. Shashank Joshi presented Dr. Siddharth N Shah Memorial oration.
The outgoing president of the organization, Dr. SN Narasingan discussed how to implement the guidelines for the control of hypertension, which is prevalent in the world in India. Dr. Supratik Bhattacharya from Kolkata discussed on the problem of high blood pressure in thyroid patients.
