New Delhi February 26: The Lok Gathbandhan Party (LGP) today said that hankering for power in the run up to the summer general election has created a piquant situation for both BJP and non-BJP alliances in the country. The LGP said these alliances are just for grabbing power and not to serve the people. The LGP said now the move for common minimum programme (CMP) for non-NDA alliance has been mooted which cannot be workable in the absence of basic ideological differences among these parties.
The spokesman of the party said here on Tuesday that instead of joining hands to root out corruption and ensure honesty, transparency and good governance the move for CMP is just to mislead the people to capture power. The spokesman said despite vast ideological differences these parties have been making efforts for CMP which is bound to fail, as the people have already realised about the futility of these opportunistic alliances. The spokesman said NDA and non-NDA parties have failed the people who are facing immense problems. The spokesman said while NDA’s 2014 Lok Sabha election promise in garb of “Acche Din” has totally failed, the rival camp has mooted a CMP for the similar purpose of grabbing power. The spokesman recalled that in the United Front government of 1996, the Vajpayee government of 1999, and the UPA of 2004, CMPs were formulated after election results were out but all of them failed to yield positive results. The spokesman said that in order to ensure development and welfare the country required fight against corruption at high places with honest governance but the political parties appeared to be least interest in it.
The spokesman said that these parties, virtually devoid of people-oriented programmes are simply concerned with grabbing power. The spokesman that instead of coming out with inclusive developmental agenda political formation of various colours are engrossed into opportunistic tie-up based on caste and communal consideration. The spokesman said their agenda is to keep the people into ignorance, poverty and illiteracy to serve their vested interest. The spokesman said the LGP headed by former Secretary Government of India Vijay Shankar Pandey has been making efforts to present an honest, capable and transparent political alternative which could help in eliminating corruption, injustice, poverty, unemployment and other problems and ensure happy prosperous life to common man. The spokesman has thus appealed to the people to discard the opportunistic political parties which have over the years exploited them and support the Lok Gathbandhan Party to pave way for development and honest governance.
