New Delhi, February 01: The Lok Gathbandhan Party (LGP) today said that NDA government has fared badly in job creation during the last five years, as the data of the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) has given indication of unemployment rate highest in 45 years. The LGP said the NSSO report pegging unemployment rate at 6.1% during 2017-18 has badly exposed the tall claims of the NDA government about rising economy.
The spokesman of the LGP headed by former Secretary Government of India Vijay Shankar Pandey said here on Friday that the BJP’s 2014 electoral promise of creating two crore jobs every year has fallen flat and for this reason there are desperate efforts by the NDA government to hide the NSSO report and offer lame-duck excuses in the matter. Demanding release of the job report transparently the spokesman said by withholding the data the government cannot serve any purpose as rampant unemployment phenomenon in every sector is self-explanatory. The spokesman said the adverse effects of the demonetization and implementation of Goods and Service Tax are still continuing which has reflected the NSSO report of steep hike in unemployment. The spokesman said the LGP has repeatedly asserted that the NDA government has been a disaster on economic front which has now been adequately proved by the NSSO report. The spokesman said the NDA government and NITI Ayog have run into denial mode but people, who are groaning under the heels of the problems, understand well about the prevailing situation. Pointing out that NDA government job report card is worst, the spokesman said in the absence of upsurge in economic activities employment cannot be created.
The spokesman said it is for this reason the BJP, in the run up to general election, has resorted to emotive issues to divert the attention of the people from basic issues. The spokesman said economic disruption and rise of crony capitalism have pushed the country to the brink of disaster and the BJP poll promise of honesty, transparency and good governance lies shattered and the people would not be carried away by its misleading claims and emotions.
