New Delhi, February 22: The Lok Gathbandhan Party (LGP) said today that the NDA government has totally flopped in fighting the menace of black money and bringing it to the public domain. The LGP said even the crisis has further worsened during the last five years.
The spokesman of the party said here on Friday the extent of the crisis could be assessed from the fact that the three study reports have estimated the quantum of the black money between $ 3.6 billion and $ 490 billion inside and outside the country. The spokesman further said NDA government’s miscalculated effort to contain the crisis through demonetization of high value currency in November 2016 has also backfired as there is no let up in the situation. The spokesman said combating the menace was major electoral plank of the BJP in 2014 Lok Sabha election with the promise of Rs 15 lakh in the accounts of the poor people. However after lapse of five years the situation remains as it, the spokesman said, adding that National Council for Applied Economic Research (NCAER) report has indicated that quantum of black money outside India could be between $ 384 billion and $490 billion. The spokesman said even as the people are now asking the outcome, the BJP has been desperately trying to skirt the issue and push it under the carpet.
The spokesman said fight against corruption, honesty, good governance, transparency in system, black money, job creation- all combined in one catch-word “Achhe din” slogan of the BJP has been pushed under the carpet as the NDA government has miserably failed on this front. The spokesman said the hapless people are still yearning for promised “good days” and solution to their perennial economic problems. The spokesman said the NDA government had in fact been a big failure on major issues which had long been confronting the nation. On job creation reports from various sectors indicated that NDA government had received the worst rating as there was widespread disappointment among the jobless youth.
