New Delhi, March 13: The Lok Gathbandhan Party (LGP) said today that unemployment crisis has emerged as a major issue in the ensuing Lok Sabha election as the NDA government has totally failed to address to this menacing problem because of the directionless economic policies during the last five years. The LGP said that NDA had promised creation of job but after five years in government the situation has worsened.

The spokesman of the party said here on Wednesday that job market situation has failed to improve and it is for this reason the BJP is either making distorted claims or trying to skirt the issue. However report in media indicated that job has taken lead over all other issues in the election. The spokesman said the problem is just because of ill-conceived and lopsided economic policies which adversely affected the creation of job. The spokesman said the desperation for employment has assumed serious dimension with several outfit resorting to agitation. Pointing out that NDA’s slogan during 2014 election assuring jobs to youth has now disappeared from its political narrative, the spokesman said the unemployed youth is feeling cheated. With large number of job seekers competing for limited jobs, the spokesman said number of respondents preferring government jobs has increased from 62% to 65%, which indicated the country’s jobs crisis.

The spokesman said the NDA government had in fact been a big failure on major issues which had long been confronting the nation. The BJP had promised job creation, inflation, end to corruption, bringing back black money, improving the sluggish economy, improving security on border but there is no change in the situation so far. On job creation reports from various sectors indicated that NDA government had received the worst rating as there was widespread disappointment among the jobless youth. There is feeling that that joblessness remained as it was earlier as unemployment has not reduced despite Make in India slogan and push on skill development initiatives. The spokesman said jobs crisis required to be looked into with larger economic context with honesty, transparency and good governance but there has been lacklustre and directionless approach during the last five years as the government was not at all serious in tackling this ticking bomb.
