Urban Mirror Correspondent
Lucknow, February 21: The Lok Gathbandhan Party (LGP) today demanded withdrawal of suspension of senior IPS officer/ additional director general Jasvir Singh (1992 batch) on frivolous charges against him. The LGP said the comments of Jasvir Singh, known for his integrity, honesty and transparency, did not call for such a harsh measure like suspension and the BJP government should withdraw its order.

The spokesman said Jasvir Singh did not do any thing serious that the government should have resorted to his suspension. The spokesman said the state government’s decision smacked of political vendetta for his comments in the interview to a news portal. The spokesman said that there was nothing wrong in the interview as the officer, who has all through his career fought for injustice, rule of law and protection of Constitution, has only commented on the prevailing situation in the government, which is a national phenomenon.

The spokesman said official nexus with corrupt politicians and criminals has ruined the civil and police administration with poor people groaning under the heels of immense problems. The spokesman said spineless IPS and IAS officers have only been serving vested interest of their political masters which no doubt is unconstitutional. The spokesman said LGP under the leadership of Vijay Shankar Pandey has been fighting against corruption at higher places and ensure honesty, transparency and good governance in the government. The spokesman said it is indeed unfortunate that senior officer like Jasvir Singh, who raised voice of sanity, are being harassed by the state government. The spokesman has thus called upon the people to join LGP movement against corruption, harassment of honest and upright officers so that rule of law could be established in the state.
