Lok Gathbandhan Party criticises BJP for divisive poll agenda

New Delhi, January 12: The Lok Gathbandhan Party (LGP) today said the BJP, failing to deliver on development front during the last five years regime at the centre, has fallen back communalising the electorate in the run-up to forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. The LGP said the BJP’s “Panipat syndrome” raised at the Delhi conclave is simply aimed at dividing the people on communal lines and push its failure under the carpet.

The spokesman of the party said here on Saturday that the way the BJP’s Delhi conference tried to raise pitch on communal and sensitive issues has given enough indication of shape of thing to come in next few months. The spokesman has called upon the people to be vigilant about the communal and divisive machination of the BJP and properly evaluate its performance during the last five years. The spokesman said the BJP is quite shaky on NDA government’s developmental and welfare programmes as they have failed to yield positive results for poor people and farming community in the country. The spokesman said worsening agrarian crisis and disenchantment among poor people has already led to rout of the party in just concluded assembly election, which now appeared to be trend-setter nationally.

The spokesman said that comparison between 200-year-old Panipat battle with forthcoming electoral battle is quite misleading and would not help desperate BJP in any type of consolidation. The spokesman said the people had voted the BJP to power 2014 for restoration of honesty, transparency, good governance, development and welfare of people but five years down the line the masses are feeling completely disenchanted with it as it has not only failed on almost all fronts but has evolved “crony capitalism” to serve vested interest of select people. The spokesman said the emergency of the “crony capitalism” could well be compared with “colonial rule”.

The LGP headed by former Secretary Government of India Vijay Shankar Pandey, who is contesting Lok Sabha election from Faizabad-Ayodhya, has called upon the people to leave the communal acrimony behind to join the movement of the LGP aimed at equality, protection to all, irrespective of religious, caste and other identities. The spokesman said rampant corruption, mal-administration, lack of transparency in good governance are core issues haunting the country and instead of wasting energies on divisive issues, it is high time the countrymen focus on social, political, economic and administrative reforms to abolish utter poverty and pave way for all round development.
