Lok Gathbandhan Party condemns UP govt for poor health services

Lucknow, February 19: The Lok Gathbandhan Party (LGP) today said that medical and health services in Uttar Pradesh are in bad condition. The LGP said when according to the media report services are bad in prestigious Trauma centre at KGMU Lucknow the situation at other places could well be assessed.

The spokesman of the party said here on Tuesday that the chief minister Yogi Adityanath has claimed improvement in medical and health services during the last two years but the prevailing situation at the ground level is totally different and belief his assertion. The spokesman said the KGMU internal report has indicated that services are not up to the mark at the Trauma as the doctors are not well trained to attend the cases. The spokesman said that the BJP government doesnot have well-planned medical and health policies to reach out to vast rural areas which have put massive pressure on medical infrastructure in urban areas, thereby failing to proper give services to the people. The spokesman said healthcare planning is quite alarming and shameful in UP.

The spokesman said primary health centres, community health centres in rural areas which are only service providers to the poor people lacked basic facilities thereby forcing the people to rush to urban areas even for treatment of small ailments and falling into trap of private hospitals. The spokesman said there is complete lack of medicines, doctors, paramedical staff and basic medical facilities in rural areas. The spokesman said privatization of health sector has also played havoc on the poor people, as there are frequent reports about the people being fleeced by these private hospitals. The spokesperson said the irregularities, cheating and fraudulent activities in providing services to the patients at extremely high costs in private hospitals in the state, have assumed alarmingly dimension. Professional misconduct too in these hospitals is being reported very frequently. Pointing out that people are forced to rush to private hospitals because of poor services in government hospitals, the spokesman said the per capita expenditure on government hospitals is extremely low. The spokesman also condemned the successive governments for not improving health services in the state.
